In My Closet: June Skincare Favs

I’ve decided to start a blog series called “In my closet.” This is where I will take you through my enormous collection of clothes, shoes, make up and skin care products. To start off the series, I thought i’d begin with skin care- My current obsession.

My skin type

I find my skin is combination, oily in the T-bar and drier around the outer areas. Soon I’ll be heading straight to the big 3-0 and I’ve decided to start looking after my skin!  My latest obsession is binge watching beauty gurus on Youtube. A few of my favs are:

Through these guys I’ve picked up a few tips and tricks on great make-up (more on that soon), and of course, skin care. After identifying my skin type, I headed off to Dischem and Clicks to go about my search.

My current skincare products

Through trial and error, these are the skincare products I’ve decided to stick with for a month or two to see results. However, my skin is visibly smoother and pores are more refined. I mean, who wants gaping or clogged pore-holes all over their face??

Cleanse

To begin, I cleanse with Cetaphil Oily Skin Cleanser which promises to:

  1. deep clean pores
  2. not clog pores
  3. remove all surface oils, dirt AND dead skin

Immediately after use your skin feels deeply cleansed and oil-free. Not a lot of foamy action, but it does the job, well.

Face mask

Next up, (if we’re looking at a deep cleanse), the Loreal Pure Clay Detox Mask. I LOVE this mask! It promises the following:

  1. cleansing
  2. clarification

Using three blends of different clays to:

  • eliminate imperfections
  • absorb impurities and excess oil

Slap it on for 5-10 minutes and what I do is wipe off the hardened clay with a warm facecloth.

Want to know what else I’ve dabbled in over the last few weeks? In My Closet will next feature my next passion… Make up!
